The Lagos Hustle

The Lagos Hustle

As a new comer, I decided one morning to start relieving people’s frown

I kept smiling down the Lagos road

A lady almost stripped me naked with her metal detector eyes

She was trying her best to ponder how she could steal her own money if she was in my position

A happy man seems to be very suspicious

I waved, smiling at a man and he kept tapping his valuables to see if he should bid his valuables farewell too

Everyone claims not to be a thief but I see them stealing glances at my smile

Just then,

I finally saw a man smile back at me

I guess not every one is paranoid

But he seemed too friendly though

Wait,…..where is my wallet??

My paranoia kicked in

My smile upside down

I started stealing glances
