Down walked me

On the path of loneliness

I could see the fireflies debating

On keeping me company for the night

But they realized I was not of their kind.

Up looked me,

The stars seemed to be in twos

And even the moon seemed to be fliriting

With the clouds, as they moved in sync

Dancing to the ballad of the night.

Left and right staggered me,

For I was wearied of the sights

Of lovebirds clustered under the trees

It’ll never be me and you – deux

I’ll forever be a lone wolf, un , just me.

Deux – French word for two

Un – French word for one
