State of Emergency

State of Emergency

A cockroach has lost

A wing and a limb

In a ghastly flight for safety

And the broom that caused same

Has caught up with it

At the very mouth if a crevicle

Sweeping it to the feet

Of it long troubled victim

Bowel has spilled entrails

Festooned with filth and rots

Of the victor’s resources gnawed to ruins

       ‘Everyday… For a thief’

       ‘One-day… For the owner’
