A LETTER TO THE DEPRESSED

A LETTER TO THE DEPRESSED

Dear depressed friend, I hope you get inspired by this piece πŸ‘‡
.
.
I know you want to live a beautiful life. I understand how dilapidated and dejected you feel. I know you often feel trapped with emotions of overwhelming sadness for a long while no matter how difficult it may seem to overcome.

I know you cry a lot for no specific reason, you suffer from low self-esteem and feel worthless. I can ascertain that you started doing drugs and alcohol as a result of this dilemma which you’re facing.

I know most times you feel suicidal and talk about how bad, stupid, and ugly you are and because of that, you stay alone most of the time.

Your situation could seem like an overwhelming, endless, and helpless situation but I want to let you know that I care about you and I once wore that shoe. Most importantly, God loves you and you’re the apple of His eyes.

Remember that God has a great plan for your life and He accepts you regardless of how dirty your past might have been or your current struggles.

Don’t get fed up with life, the world needs you in it. This dilemma is not the end of your life, you can overcome it. Below are some tips to help you out πŸ‘‡

πŸ‘‰ Stay connected to your emotional support system especially family and friends.

πŸ‘‰ Don’t isolate yourself from your loved ones.

πŸ‘‰ Ask for help if you’re struggling or stressed. Share your situation with a friend or loved one whom you confide in. It can help alleviate your burden.

πŸ‘‰ Keep a healthy body exercise regularly. It releases feel-good endorphins in your brain and builds your immunity, which can help with depression.

πŸ‘‰ Find a creative outlet such as drawing/writing to express yourself. It can help you process your thoughts and feelings constructively.

πŸ‘‰ Seek the face of God.

πŸ‘‰ Give yourself time to heal.

Overcoming depression is a journey. You will heal gradually. I hope you find this piece helpful.

Love from,
Chioma Ogunka.
