Hope Rises as Federal University proposes herbal cure for Corona virus

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti has yet again recorded another feat in the world of Science. Only a few years old, the university was founded during the then Goodluck Jonathan’s regime, along with six others. However, the university has continued to lead in terms of development and innovation vis-à-vis the others. 

On Friday, the faculty of Science announced that they may have developed a herbal mixture that has the potential to be active against COVID-19. Dr. Lawrence Okoror of the Microbiology department is the lead researcher of the herbal mixture. He also doubles as a consultant to the World Health Organisation (WHO). 

In a press released signed by the Dean of Science Professor Lawal, “the mixture had been tested against several viruses before the outbreak of COVID-19 and has shown to be effective against Rhino virus, Influenza and some respiratory viruses, as well as tumors.” He also remarked that the product has been submitted to the Nigerian Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development.

He added, “Federal University Oye-Ekiti has demonstrated tenacious commitments towards the advancement of research, most especially in areas of Science and Technology. The university is known for providing the right ambience for scientist to come up with result-oriented findings.”

Although this is not the first solution to be proposed for the novel virus, we hope it would go a long way in changing the narratives of the stubborn vHOPE RISES AS FUOYE PROSPOSES CURE FOR CORONA VIRUS.
