*WHY FAITH? – 01*
_Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God._
~ Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV
Christians are called *believers* because we *believe* as we are shown in Sciptures. Everything about us is anchored on our faith (what we believe) in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We know that faith defies logic and rational reasoning more often than not. Skepticism has risen to oppose the truth of the gospel and its power on several levels.
This is understandable especially in these days of very advanced knowledge. It seems unusual for someone to believe more in what he cannot see than what he can. However, our faith has an Author and He is the One who enables us to keep believing despite all odds.
*Skepticism (or scepticism)*:
A personal disposition toward doubt or incredulity of facts, persons, or institutions.
Almighty God, may the reality of Your awesome power become my experience today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
