don’t dare look at today with yesterday’s eyes,
we are no longer walking different paths,
we are here as a team, we are
here for our brothers too.
We are here for Almajiri up North,
for men and women down South who hold
too much thirst in their throat
cause oil exploration has turned their water tanks
into oil wells,
we are here for Maryam, whose future
is a victim of ASUU syndrome,
we are here for Emeka, whose life,
a police man’s stray bullet preyed on.
We are here for Dear Nigeria,
asking the government for a second round of independence,
we are asking for better living, for safety,
We are here, asking for a new Nigeria.
